Order from foodpanda delivery however upset with the gravy portion it’s too little as you can see in the photo. Not enough to cover the food 🙁

First time trying. Love the atmosphere and the food. We ordered the grilled fish and green pepper and it was flavourful and fragrance. The waitress service there was great! Very attentive to our needs and our constant request to refill the soup.

wensin's service is very good! The food is delicious😋The new dry pot cauliflower has just the right taste and goes very well with rice! The Grape Storm tastes great and relieves the spiciness. I received free ice powder after the meal, which is very considerate ❤️ It’s worth coming here to dine.

Food is good with generous portions, no service to be honest. Place is cramp and warm. We were wondering if Jay Chou was one of the owners? Cos they kept playing ONLY his songs which pisses us off! Will definitely patronise again for the food if they still have the 25+5% off.
Pro hack: just order the fillet version. Same taste but much easier to enjoy.Tried both the garlic one (fillet) and the green pepper one (normal). Obviously the fillet one got finished faster cause it was so easy to eat. Garlic one was also kids friendly and not spicy, just need to scoop away all the garlic bits. Garlic fish also came with some brinjals at the side.The star of the show was the noodles though. The 葱油面 was one of the best I’ve ever had. The shrimp bits (虾米) was so good that I ordered a second bowl.10/10 recommend and will definitely visit again. Pricing-wise it’s not cheap, around $50/fish but you get quality food.
It's a great place for a special day out. Food, service and atmosphere is excellent, and prices are not too outrageous. There are even special discounts if you opt for takeout only.

A 3.5 star. Forgot to take photo of the grilled sea bass. This time round I requested for less salty, after my experience from previous visit. Try not to sip the soup / tang if you cannot take saltiness. The skewer is also salty. One interesting dish (pictured) is the egg plant with century egg. There is pestle for you to smash.
Order for 4 pax. We are so full and love the food spicy and salty, just nice for us.

OverratedStaffs generally not well trained.Even they read out their slogan as if for the sake of doing but no sincerity.The ordering is confuse.They have the skewers promotion but no one highlight us until we discover ourself.Totally overrated.Our Seletar neighbourhood stall food and outshine them.
I ordered grilled scallops but they didn't come.The Chongqing Tofu Pudding Grilled Fish is tasteless. I don’t know if there is no salt in it. The fish is not grilled very well and it doesn’t taste good at all.System problem? I suddenly took the order to confirm what I didn't order.Very noisy and stuffy

Pickled sauce fish was above average. Skewers were good and tender and tasty. Noodles was tasty and light. One portion of fish easily feeds 4-5pax.

It’s my first visit here, advised to reserve a seat for dining in. Overall, the food was pretty good although some items were unavailable by 7pm. The grilled fish is definitely the highlight, do however consider adding on some ingredients to enhance the flavour. The drinks and party platter on the other hand, were underwhelming.
Had dinner with wife on Firday. Always wanted to try out grilled fish.Ordered the salted veg grilled fish with sides.The fish is nice, soup not spicy like 太二, which both of us like.Fish is big also, too much for 2 of us.Will come back again.

As far as fish is concerned, it is inferior to many brands, but I will go to Discovery Fish because its bubble frogs are the most delicious among them all. Now that there are no bubble frogs, there is no need to go fishing anymore. Why are there no Bubble Frogs anymore!😡
Came here more than a year ago then returned recently to try it again. It's terrible, the food is overly salty and check out the rice, they can't even cook rice properly. It was severely undercooked and hard. No wonder they have no more snaking queues.

The grilled fish I tried was a huge disappointment. The taste was overwhelmingly salty, making it nearly inedible. On top of that, the fish flesh was dry and hard, reminiscent of frozen fish left out too long. Save your taste buds and your money – this dish is definitely not worth trying.
The fish is not fresh.They are using frozen fish, imported from China.Grilled fish Sauce are salty, feel so thirsty the whole night after ate this grilled fish.This is the first and the last, will not come here again. Grilled fish at Jem food court much more nicer and much more cheaper than this.
Make a reservation and didn't wait long when a table was ready for us. Fish was refresh and was served fast. Salt level can be lower for healthier option. Portion was great for a party of 4. It was my third visit and it didn't disappoint.

Our favourite place for grilled fish! Been visiting for years and we love the Green pepper limbo fish! As always good customer service and yummy food. Love the atmosphere too. They have kids meal too so it's a place suitable for all!

Booked reservations on Saturday afternoon and called to check if able to add in more pax and the branch was cool with it but when it comes to reservations time there’s no table available ? I do understand for Saturday dinner timing might be pack and uncontrollable dining timing however I wasn’t expected the host boy told me “oh he can’t control the customers eating speed and time “ ?? honestly the purpose for people to make a reservation isn’t that we do not wanted to wait and queue for so long ? We waited for at least 30mins and no apologies and just keep telling me because is a big groups so he couldn’t find a table for us ?so surprise that Tan Yu are doing this kind of customer service when I had been to few branch in Singapore and so disappointed & Shame for me and my family that brought our overseas friend that day to experience this kind of service when we been telling them this is the best in Singapore .Honestly speaking I’m working in the same line so I’m trying my best to talk nicely and being nice to understand for the weekend situations but this is really 😕😕 my first time to left such a bad review . The only saving grace was the service provided by one staff member wearing glasses, who took care of our table with professionalism and courtesy. Didn’t manage to get his name but he really makes us feel better to enjoy the “dinner”
Great tasting fish. Always return. Must try the green pepper spicy fish. Very unique taste and appetising. Good and fast service and they give free starter kit too.

Ordered the sour veg fish fillet which came with potato slices and black fungus. Appetizing.Also ordered the steamed scallops which was okay in terms of taste but quite pricey IMO.Tried their 夫妻肺片 (sichun cold dish of thin sliced beef and offals). A bit too spicy for local taste bud, manager was sharing that today’s the first day they are offering this dish.Revisited in Oct 2023: ordered same sour veg limbo fillet as boneless hence easier to eat. Same standards. Additionally, complimentary sides were served while waiting for the main course. The marinated bamboo shoots were refreshing!
My experiences at Tanyu Westgate has always been great. 😊The food is excellent, no complains at all, only praises. The services are wonderful, polite, friendly and comfortable. They are always patient with questions and are willing to help even on things like finding out what the brand and flavour of the plum they give.I love the fact that they have a free 9-compartment snack box. It’s not a great deal yet the thought counts. It makes the experience that much more pleasant.Snacks, drinks and a sumptuous wok of veg & fish for less than $24. ❤️I highly recommend Tanyu!
The green pepper limbo fish tasted just as smooth an hour later as it did when it was just served! Impressed. It was like the fish that kept on giving because every time we thought we were done, we would discover more meat.We also had oysters which were humongous. Parents were very happy about it. The Thunder Grape drink served to quench our thirst throughout the meal.Special mention to Cindy, one of the staff who served us. She was very observant and noticed that the soup/ sauce was kind of overflowing and spilling onto the table. Other than that, she also gave us tips on how to better enjoy our meal like to remove the chilli first and add it later if we wanted it to be spicier (they refill clear soup).One dish other than the fish that was memorable was the rice cake! Texture was like mochi and the base was sesame. Crisp ok the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.
Ordering was a bit confusing at first as we were told to scan an app to get a discount of $5 but the app was not linked to the restaurant. As I was with two friends who don't speak Chinese it was tough as the waiter serving us does not seem to know English. After figuring out the avocado app was not for ordering, we had the privilege of an Indian waiter who was able to give us good advice. The welcoming platter was a nice touch and we managed to order the grilled fish with green pepper. We were also able to change to a table that did not blast the aircon at us and it was a cosy setup. Food was served fairly promptly and the drinks in a tower was quite fun.All in it was a v pleasant experience for all of us as we have heard so much about the restaurant but had not the chance to eat the fish. We order the limbo whole fish with some vegetables to go along! Nice on a wet and cold day:)The mutton skewers were not great 羊肉串as the mutton was tough! I have eaten better ones elsewhere!Good advice by the waiter too to put the green peppers aside first so that it is not too spicy!All in a v pleasant experience.
I love their scallion noodle. Perfectly seasoned and nicely cooked! This outlet has the best scallion noodle. I’ve tried their noodle in other outlets. Sometimes it’s over cooked/ or it’s not well seasoned.The 羊肉串, 羊骚味is strong. Some portion is not chewable. On the average only.Now they have a welcome platter for diners even for one pax.
I normally go to the grilled spicy fish at Bugis Cube and this is the first time I eat at Tanyu (after seeing their commercials hundreds of times). The service is exceptional and very friendly. The atmosphere and design are very nice. The fish is also very good. One thing I would improve is a bigger list of appetizers (veggies).
I have been to the other outlet in orchard. I thought I just try this outlet. The food was good and service was fairly quick.I was there after 2.30pm so there was only about 4 tables. Everything was presented nicely and quickly. The service staff came around to top up the soup of the grilled fish.The price for 2 pax about $114.00 which is kind of pricey. Overall the quality of food was good.
